Customer Shopping BuZZ

Where is the Cheese? A Warning
Based on the great reviews, I ordered the cheese package as a gift. After waiting several days for an acknowledgment from my friends I brazeningly asked for their assessment of the cheese. Much to my amazement, they had not received the gift. Upon contacting igourment I was informed that based upon their FedEx records it had been delievered (not signed for) and too much time had passed and they would not refund the gift nor redeliver the package. They did offer to sell me the same package at half price.

A hiccup, a cough, and success
I did not have an easy order in that I needed it shipped to Saipan. Their customer services person said it couldn’t be done, but they corrected themselves (maybe a new person on the job that didn’t know) and sent the cheese. My friend was graciously thankful and I am therefore thankful as well for their services.

Tickled pink!
I wasn’t sure what the quality or size would be. UPS had to delay the shippment a couple days due to bad weather and product still arrived cold. Packed very well with styrofoam and coldpaks. Cheeses vaccuum packed so I didn’t feel like I had to eat all that cheese right away. Cheeses were sized well. Decent sized bricks and wheels. No ordinary cheeses. Things like Blueberry Stilton were the norm. Even had a cheese I had never heard of. Was a great value. I’ll definately be purchasing from them in the future.

Product Description

In the proud tradition of St. Patrick’s Day, we are thrilled to present three of our favorite Irish cheeses in this carefully selected assortment. For decades Irish cheeses were a secret, enjoyed only by our friends “across the pond.” Now we are lucky enough to carry these three cheeses. And what better time to discover these marvelous cheeses than March, the month where everything goes green!

Cashel Blue: This wonderful farmhouse blue cheese hails from Tipperary. Using only fresh cows milk from their fresian herd, Louis and Jane Grubb have produced this masterpiece. Ideal for melting or after dinner with some port.

Shamrock Cheddar: To produce the incredible texture of this cheddar, the milk is scalded twice and repeatedly cut and piled. Aged a full 12 months of aging, Shamrock develops a creamy, taut texture and a sweet, grassy flavor.

Blarney Castle: Named after one of Ireland’s most cherished attractions, Blarney is a semi-soft, part-skim cheese of exceptional quality and original character. A real treat.

Enjoy!

To day I find introduce you this Cheddars of the World Assortment (2 pound) by igourmet.com I will think This Interesting ,and you can see that

Customer Shopping BuZZ

If you like sharp cheddar, like fine wine, this is the best
A very high quality selection, with lots of flavor, deep residual secondary
flavors and aroma. It reminds me of a fine wine that’s been aged and mellowed. For the price, this is a bargain.
All four cheeses are excellent choices for that special “flavor fest.”

Happy customer
This arrived promptly in a refridgerated box. I enjoy cheese, but I’m not well versed in gourmet qualities. Happily, I find that I can readily distinguish these four cheeses in a taste sampling. They are all delicious, and the two European varieties are very sharp. By the time the express shipping is added to the order, each block of cheese has a fairly hefty price tag. However, I don’t live in a rural area, so I’m pleased Amazon makes this and other specialty cheeses available.

igourmet cheesy review
Cheddars of the world sampler is just as good as being in another country in person. Sampling the generous sized cheese’s with a San Francisco sourdough and a glass of fabulous California wine, and never having to leave the comfort of my own home is the best. Go ahead and treat yourself to a pleasant worldly experience.

Product Description

Along with their conquering armies, the Romans brought their cheesemaking expertise to England in the first century AD. But it was not until the sixteenth century when the cheese we know today as Cheddar was so named. With such a long history, it’s no surprise that Cheddar is one of the world’s favorite foods. So popular, in fact, that almost every cheese producing nation makes its own version. This assortment contains excellent examples from three continents:

Coombe Farm English Farmhouse Cheddar: Still made by hand on Coombe Farm in Somerset, the county where Cheddar history began. This best-selling Cheddar is rich, tangy and full-flavored. Aged for over 15 months.

Red Leaf Canadian Cheddar: This entrant from North America has a firm texture and a sweet, honeyed flavor. Best enjoyed with ale and fruit, this Cheddar is aged for over 12 months.

Dairy Vale Australian Cheddar: Hailing from down under, Dairy Vale is produced on the farm, and made exclusively from farm-fresh milk. Its earthy flavor, slightly piquant truly sets it apart. Aged for over 12 months.

This assortment contains three 1/2 pound wedges.

Now I find Italian Cheese Sampler (2 pound) by igourmet.com I will think This Interesting ,and you can see that

What a treat
My husband and I ordered this sampler as a special treat, and now we are hooked! The cheese was incredible with our favorite wines, and made for a fun and beautiful late dinner (i.e. the kid was in bed) with warm olives a baguette and some prosciutto! We also ordered some asiago to go with it. DELICIOUS.

Go to the Store
I was on a buying spree and I picked this up, if you have a good gourmet grocery store nearby you would be better off just going there, I paid for shipping and I regret it.

Very good overall
I bought this item with a gift certificate. I used the cheese in a cheese tasting party with good friends. The cheese arrived quickly and in good shape. There was a substitution in my order which was fine since there was a disclaimer about substitutions if the exact cheese wasn’t available. My only complaint was that there was no information about the cheese. For my tasting, I had to do all the leg work to get information so I could tell my guests what they were eating. Thank goodness for the internet! Nevertheless, I would buy this again. This was the perfect combination, I believe, for the cheese novices I had at the party, nothing too strong or stinky. Each had a distinct flavor and it was enjoyable to get everyone’s reaction on the different cheeses.

Amazon Sales Rank: #114 in Gourmet Food

Size: 2 pound

Brand: IGOURMET

Assortment of four Italian cheeses

Toma Piedmontese, Piave Vecchio, Mountain Gorgonzola and Pecorino Toscano

Each cheese is an 8 ounce package

Imported from Italy

Product Description

This sampler features four cheeses that are typical of four distinct regions of Italy:

Toma Piedmontese – Made in the Piedmont region of course, this cheese is surface ripened, meaning it ripens from the rind inward. Toma is a delectable mountain cheese that has a thin rind, a custard-like texture, small pores and a sweet lactic flavor with a gentle bite.

Piave Vecchio – Similar to Asiago, Piave Vecchio (aged) is a firm, dry, slightly nutty cheese from the valleys of Northeastern Italy.

Mountain Gorgonzola – Italy’s famous blue cheese comes from Lombardy. Made from cow’s milk taken from local herds that graze on beautiful rolling pastures, no Italian Cheese Assortment would be complete without a cut of authentic Gorgonzola.

Pecorino Toscano – This soft, sheep’s milk cheese is made in the hills of Tuscany. It is young, sweet and springy. We find that this combination well represents the wide variety of flavors and textures found in Italian cheeses.

I am not a cheese expert nor do I claim to be one so this kind of cheese is new to me. If you are not used to this kind of cheese you might have the same reaction I did and I guess since I am usually getting cheese that’s found in the supermarket (like slices of Kraft cheese or a block of cheese) I found this cheese to be an acquired taste. At 1st I thought the cheese was awful but than I thought about it and the main reason I thought that was since I am not used to the taste it might not be pleasing at 1st. So I gave it a chance and over a few minutes I had found it to be great tasting and I wanted more and its the same way when someone eats it with me. Even though when I let someone else taste this cheese they usually have the same reaction I had when I ate it the 1st time and I understand why, so I explain why it probably doesn’t cater to their taste. I have found its taste is still not for everyone so that’s why I figure its more acquired if you are used to something else. I have found any of the cheeses that came to be relatively strong tasting and always leaveing an aftertaste and that is not always a bad thing. It was a nice way to taste the way different cheeses from different places vary. Now that I have the taste for gourmet cheese and its grown on me quite a bit I don’t know if I can go back to normal supermarket cheese anymore.

Sampling the generous sized cheese’s with a San Francisco sourdough and a glass of fabulous California wine, and never having to leave the comfort of my own home is the best. Go ahead and treat yourself to a pleasant worldly experience.

Pull out these cheeses from the refrigerator after dinner to let them warm a bit. Get your new wine glasses, open a nice red, find some crackers, and either put out grapes or get an apple ready to slice. This is our dessert, or bed-time snack, whichever comes last.

I chose this pack because I like a variety of cheeses on the cheese plate. I absolutely adore Royal Stilton, whose flavors inform your taste buds you are in the company of bleu cheese but do it softly, gently, just a kiss of that flavor. I repeat: Oh, how I love Stilton! I love both its aroma and its flavor. Take a big swirl of that spicy red and you are heaven-bound right now!

I always thought the Germans, the French, the Swiss, the Swedes had the market on cheese until I met the English cheddars. The Farmhouse Cheddar is nothing like an orange cheddar. It’s mild and smooth. Its opposite is Sage Derby–herbaceous and fresh. While one lulls you, the other jolts you, each in a pleasant way.

And last on our plate is the Lancashire, a dry, crumbly, old, old English cheese. You might need a spoon to gather up all this goodness because it will come apart upon being cut.

A wonderful pack of cheese! A great gift idea! However, I suggest you consider the explorer, the adventurer among your friends and family, as three of these cheeses are not your American Swiss cheese or cheddar and might not be a welcome gift. But for one who wants to experiment, what a welcome gift!
A Cheese-Loving Anglophile
This is a wonderful assortment of cheese, a great value for the quality and quantity that you receive. In a cheese sandwich, or on a cracker with some olives and wine, or mixed into scrambled eggs, this product will not disappoint! If only they delivered to the United Arab Emirates…

Ok
Finally
The order arrived late! with only two out of nine cheeses ordered.
called, waited on hold and spoke to various people. The entire order should have weighed at least 5 pound with out box. The order that I got was marked as 2!
Finally 3 days later got the correct order.
Cheeses small and some from the rind.
Could buy better at Whole Foods.
Not again

England is a land well suited to dairy farming. Its territory is relatively flat, thus good for grazing, and it has plenty of rainfall. This country produces over 500 distinct types of cheese, including the three we are featuring in this English Cheese Assortment.

Coombe Farm Cheddar – Arguably the world’s most famous cheese name, Cheddar is an authentic English cheese that has been copied all over the world. If you have never tasted authentic English Farmhouse Cheddar, you are in for a wonderful surprise.

Royal Blue Stilton – How could such an assortment not include England’s beloved blue cheese? Creamy, tangy and eminently satisfying, our Royal Blue Stilton is perfect as a snacking cheese or as an ingredient.

Sage Derby – Don’t be afraid of the green! Pulverized sage leaves are mixed with water then added to the curd of Derby cheese to create this striking example of English cheesemaking ingenuity. Mild and herbaceous, Sage Derby is the ultimate party cheese.

This product arrived dried and ugly. The only way it was edible was to microwave it much longer than was indicated in the directions. Then to make poor worse, it created severe digestive problems.

save your money for something better
I use a variety of sugar free products including others by Wisconsin Cheeseman. How they missed so badly on this product amazes me. Normally I like the items from thier list but this fudge sent me into a severe bout of bathroom time after eating 2 small pieces. Don’t know if it was a batch with the ingredient mix off but once was enough to have me tossing the rest of the package in the trash. No way would I recommend this for ANYONE. Try the cherry cordials or the peanut butter cups but leave this off your list.

Sugar free, not taste free!
I purchased this for a diabetic family member. Very tasty. Would purchase it again. Delivered quickly.

Now I find Old World Marzipan – Wisconsin Cheeseman I make this product appeal to young people

Customer Shopping BuZZ

Marzipan
Delicious marzipan (it’s rich stuff, though so don’t try to eat too much at one sitting!) and a good price. Enjoy!

Too much dye
The fruits…
were smaller than those that appeared in the picture and were dyed to an almost neon hue of red. Reminds me of icing from cakes you can get from the grocery store (white icing sprayed red–you can taste the dye). Not that bad but it got on my hands and was generally unappetizing.
The taste of the marzipan in the interior was pretty good. Sweet, nutty, but a little dry (compared to uber-expensive marzipans I can get from a specialty grocery store nearby). If it weren’t for the shipping (I had it 2nd-day shipped but it arrived 4 days later…) I’d say this is a pretty good deal.
ok marzipan, not so great fruit marzipan
I love marzipan anything! Growing up, I remember the fruit marzipan, it has flavoring in the outer layer (so, when you ate a strawberry marzipan fruit, it tasted strawberryish). I expected this marzipan to be the same.

I have to admit that they never said that they added the flavoring, but somehow the “old world” part kinda made me think it would be the same.
